My map isn't very impressive. In reality I am much more of a high point type of person. I love to climb and get to the top of things and enjoy the view. On the other hand I love the beach except for all the sand and water. I'm not sure if I can count Idaho. I have been to the Snake River but I'm not sure where in Idaho the exact point is.

More impressive is the states I have visited. Most of these states I have spent time in and gotten out and pounded the ground a bit. A couple I have only driven through and one (NJ) I sat in an airport. I will be adding Ohio in a couple of weeks and that will bring me down to 15 states left. Most of those states are in the NE which could be knocked out in a weekend visit! Alaska and Hawaii will be the tough ones to get.

The lowpoint in Idaho is the where the Snake flows into WA. I am hoping to get most of the NE States in 2009 when Deb does the reunion. Alaska and Hawaii will be the one you enjoy getting the most.
where did you all get these cool maps you colored? I want to play. Oh... and i don't seem to have posting rights on this blog.
um
I don't count states where I have only been in the airport as states that I have been to ... even if I have been on top of the roof of the airport!! I don't feel like I really get to experience the place by being in the airport.
I had a colleague tell me once that he counts states that he has flown over as states that he has been to. I thought that was really pushing it! even though it is pretty cool to see the world from the air!
Charlie you should be able to post let me know if you still can't. The Maps come from Theodora.com/maps.
I only count states that I have been in also. I don't count airports I could add Maine and NY if I did. I am sure I have flown over all of them if I counted that. Although it would be nice to count the highpoint for WA from the flight.
I have thought of having something more meaningful to count it like going to a national park or monument. If you did that you can have Delaware as a freebee.
I saw the theodora webpage, but can't see how you all added the color to the states you've been to. Really, i'm pretty good with computers, but i guess you're all much better.
Do you have a direct url link? Or how do you color the map?
You color the map using Microsoft Paint. Right click on the blank map and save it to your hard drive. Then right click on the saved document and select open with Paint. You can then use the paint bucket to fill in the colors.
Yep, that is what I did ... and you can see that I was not able to get my text to line up but oh well.
