Easternmost points in the United States

Turns out we wern't at the Easternmost point in the continental U. S. but we were close. We certinally were in the Easternmost city in the U. S. when we had lunch in Lubec however!

Sail Rock (66° 56' 52.08"W), just offshore of West Quoddy Head, Maine (66°57'W) — easternmost point in the 50 states
West Quoddy Head, Maine (66°57'W) — easternmost point on the US mainland
Lubec, Maine — easternmost town in the 50 states
Pochnoi Point, Semisopochnoi Island, Alaska (179°46'E) — highest eastern longitude in all of US territory
Wake Island (166°39'E) — first sunrise in all of US territory

I've been around...

In my mind I thought I'd been around, but after seeing everybody else's maps I realize I've a long way to go to catch up.

Not very impressive

My map isn't very impressive. In reality I am much more of a high point type of person. I love to climb and get to the top of things and enjoy the view. On the other hand I love the beach except for all the sand and water. I'm not sure if I can count Idaho. I have been to the Snake River but I'm not sure where in Idaho the exact point is.

More impressive is the states I have visited. Most of these states I have spent time in and gotten out and pounded the ground a bit. A couple I have only driven through and one (NJ) I sat in an airport. I will be adding Ohio in a couple of weeks and that will bring me down to 15 states left. Most of those states are in the NE which could be knocked out in a weekend visit! Alaska and Hawaii will be the tough ones to get.

My accidental low points

Its rather funny, but I only have one more highpoint then I do low points. I have never tried to get a low point, but I do enjoy seeing oceans and rivers so I have been to a few of them anyways. I was mistaken about Yuma being the low point, its a few miles from the low point, so I have taken AZ off. I think I am in the lead as far as the siblings go for states visited (only 4 to go), highpoints (only 31 to go) and possibly low points (only 32 to go), only four to go........

The LowPointer

My goal is to hit the lowest point of all 50 states. My brother is a highpointer so I would also like to get all the Highpoints. As with all lowpointers we love the water. Most low points are at the point of land touching water. If fact you can pick up 4 low points going down the Mississippi.
